Montrail - Masai (Grey/Yellow) - Men's
Shoes online store is proud to offer the Montrail - Masai (Grey/Yellow) - Men's: The Masai is a nimble shoe designed for high mileage and warm temperatures. The model is an evolution of the Melee, which was worn by the winner of the 2002 and 2003 Western States 100. The improvements are substantial. It is still Montrail's lightest and most breathable shoe, but now conforms better to a variety of foot types and provides excellent support. In addition to its proven success on tough trails, such as those of the Sierra, the Masai has a very smooth and cushioned ride for roads. This gives it versatility as a multi-surface training shoe for road runners, as well as a racing shoe for ultrarunners. The Masai has a unique upper construction that creates a conforming and supportive fit. The upper actually has two independent layers. The outer layer is where the lacing eyelets, webbing bands, and midfoot support panels are attached. The inner layer is seam-free, attached only at the tongue, to provide a smooth and comfortable surface for your foot. The lacing options from the toe to the ankle allow the supple upper materials to conform exactly to the nuances of your feet, spreading the pressure evenly and comfortably. The toe box is wide and roomy, yet the upper can conform and support very narrow and low-volume feet. Lightweight, neutral midsole provides excellent cushioning over long distances. Breathable air mesh upper removes heat and moisture from the foot in warm temperatures and during high-intensity activities. Toe cap is reinforced with rubber and EVA, then screenprinted with PU for abrasion resistance. Padded stretch tongue completes a sock-like fit. Forefoot TerraFlex RD protection plate is designed for forefoot protection and excellent flexibility. FasTrax carbon rubber outsole. Shoe weighs 11 oz.
