Montrail's solution was to design an inner bootie that is breathable, warm, and fits like a sock, and to couple it with a waterproof outer bootie that has traction. Simply slip on the outer booties when you venture outside and then remove them again when you return. Entire system weighs only five ounces and compacts into a bundle the size of your fist. This and the incredible warmth provided by the apparel grade Primaloft insulation, make the Bivouac a necessary article for any overnight excursion in the cold. Synthetic suede sole with silicon, molded tread gives bootie indoor traction. Polyurethane-coated, stretch textile and 3-layer composite high-tensile fabric in the outer slipper form a durable waterproof barrier. Reflective print makes outer slipper easy to find at night by headlamp. Stuff sack included.
