High strength 4340 aircraft alloy steel axles for up front. These are designed to withstand U-joint failures that usually destroy standard shafts. Original equipment axle shaft yoke areas are not heat-treated but these are & will retain their shape when the U-joint breaks. It will accept a standard c-clip or full-circle retaining ring. '82-'86 CJ 27 spline & spicer 297X U- joint. An outer axle must also be purchased #23151.50 because the U- joint size of the high strength units accepts only a spicer 297X U- joint which need to be bought at the dealership. |
